CREW-Orange County seeks to make a lasting, positive impact on our local community. Our members contribute their time and effort to our collective philanthropic efforts:
Annual Summer Charity Soirée for WISEPlace and CREW Network Foundation
Each summer, the chapter holds its annual Summer Charity Soirée with a significant portion of the profits benefiting WISEPlace (www.wiseplace.org) and CREW Network Foundation (www.crewnetwork.org). This well-attended, commercial real estate networking event includes cocktails, dinner and a live band. The evening also includes a silent and live auction as well as an opportunity drawing.
CREW-Orange County is proud to support WISEPlace as they help transform the lives of approximately 90 women each year, by providing safe, affordable transitional housing, healthy meals, financial-empowerment curriculum and employment assistance, to help women move from homelessness and hopelessness to self-reliance.
CREW-Orange County is also proud to support CREW Network Foundation as the only foundation dedicating its resources solely towards advancing women in the commercial real estate industry. The CREW Network Foundation is committed to bringing more women into commercial real estate with programs that educate women and girls about the career opportunities available to them and creating mentoring relationships for those new to the industry.
Examples of past events include a tour and discussion about the mission of HomeAid Orange County and its year round, wholly owned, emergency housing development for homeless families. Members had the opportunity to assemble care bags for the homeless, while networking enjoying wine and appetizers.
Additionally, members have collected women’s and men’s gently used, professional clothing for the Working Wardrobes facility which helps 5,000 at-risk women and men every year enter the workforce and achieve success. Members also enjoyed a networking opportunity with wine and appetizers after taking a tour of the Working Wardrobes facility.
The CREW Careers: Building Opportunities program is a hands-on "Real Estate 101" classroom program designed to introduce high school girls to the many career opportunities available to them in the commercial real estate industry. The event is a one-day program, using local real estate developments, projects or sites to showcase and illustrate the various career options available within commercial real estate.
The Chapter created a scholarship program in 2015 to support future female leaders as they pursue university-level education that will lead to careers in commercial real estate.
This $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually to an Orange County undergraduate or graduate student whose focus of study is included in one or more of CREW Network's qualified fields of commercial real estate (QFCRE)
